Frequently asked questions
Is Criterion only for Math?
No. Math is where we started, but Criterion also covers Theory of Knowledge, the Extended Essay, and CAS — the four components every IB Diploma Programme student has to complete.
Does Criterion just give me the answers?
No. Criterion walks you through each step of a problem or task and explains the reasoning, then scores your own work against the official IB criteria. It's built to help you learn the method, not to write your assignments for you.
What's the difference between MYP and Diploma Programme support?
Criterion calibrates its guidance and feedback separately for each program — MYP criteria (A–D) for Middle Years students, and full Diploma Programme rubrics (including Higher and Standard Level Math) for DP students.
Can my school get Criterion for all students?
Yes. IB World Schools can license Criterion for their entire MYP or Diploma Programme cohort, with coordinator-level progress reporting. See the "For Schools" section above or join the waitlist to talk to our team.
Is my data kept private?
Yes. Student work and progress are only visible to that student (and, for school licenses, in aggregate to their coordinators) — never shared publicly or with other students.
